The Main Message of Mary’s Apparitions

If the Holy Spirit works through Mary, then it is the Holy Spirit speaking to the world through Marian apparitions.

So what is the Holy Spirit saying to us through Our Lady?

Man has forgotten God and turned away from him. Our Lady comes to call us to return to God through prayer, conversion and penance:

●      1830 Mary appeared in Paris to St. Catherine Laboure, revealing the Miraculous Medal

●      Then she appeared in 1846 in LaSalatte, France 

●      1858 in Lourdes

●      1871 Pontmain, France,

●      1879 Knock, Ireland

●      1917 Fatima, Portugal

●      1932-33 Beauraing and Banneux, Belgium    

●      1961-1965 Garabandal Spain (still under investigation)

●      1968 Zeitoun, Egypt – where over 1 million people saw her at the same time

●      1973 Akita, Japan

●      1976 Betania, Venezuela

●      1980 Nicaragua

●      1983 San Nicolas, Argentina

●      1981-83 Kibeho, Rwanda, where Our Lady begged the people of Rwanda for prayer, conversion and peace.

To Alphonsine one of the visionaries of Kibeho, Mary commanded her to say to the people of earth three times: You opened the door and they refused to come in. You opened the door and they refused to come in. You opened the door and they refused to come in.”

Alphonsine said, “Yes Mother, I’m telling them you say that you saw the world in a bad state and you came to save us, but we refused to listen. Yes I will continue to tell them. You want me to ask them three times: What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for?”

Most people have never heard of the fully approved apparition of Our Lady of the Rosary in San Nicolas, Argentina where Mary appeared from 1980 until now.

On May 13, 1989 Our Lady said, “…as previously in Fatima, today my visits are renewed on Earth. They are more frequent and more prolonged because humanity is passing through very dramatic times. Has man not understood that he must be uniquely at the service of God? If he resists, his soul will be lost. Mary hearts do not accept my invitation to prayer and conversion. That is why the work of the devil is growing and expanding. My dear children, it is only through prayer and conversion that you will return to God. May he not find your hearts dry.  

And “The weapon that has the greatest influence on evil is to say the Rosary."

On April 10, 1986 the visionary reported she saw an enormous crown of white rosaries. Then Mary, the Mother of God said to her: “You see this crown because this is what I want you to do, create a real crown of rosaries. Pray my daughter pray. How many mouths remain silent, still without even knowing a single prayer which may bring them close to the Lord! The Holy Rosary is the weapon which the enemy fears. It is also the refuge of those who look for relief for their sufferings, and it is the door to enter into my heart.”

From June 24, 1981 to the present it is reported that Mary has been appearing to six visionaries connected to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina

These reported apparitions are still under investigation because they continue, and the Church must wait for their conclusion before it makes a final decision. However, Archbishop Henryk Hoser stated: The commission established by Pope Benedict XVI to study the alleged apparitions of Mary at Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, voted overwhelmingly to recognize as real and supernatural the first seven apparitions…

May 12, 2019, the Vatican officially authorized pilgrimage to Medjugorje and designated the parish church of St. James in Medjugorje a pontifical shrine under the oversight of the Vatican.

St. John Paul II commented to the Archbishop of Slovakia, Pavel Hnilca: “Medjugorje is the continuation of Fatima, it is the completion of Fatima.” (Slovimir Oder, Why He is a Saint p. 169)

The Essence of the Message of Medjugorje is Conversion. Our Mother comes begging us to be Converted and Return to God

“Be Converted!” Our Lady tells us, “It will be too late when the sign comes. Beforehand, several warnings will be given to the world. Have people hurry to be converted. I need your prayers and your penance…The only thing that I would want to tell you is be converted. Make that known to all my children as quickly as possible. No pain, no suffering is too great to me to save you…You cannot imagine what is going to happen nor what the Eternal Father will send to earth. That is why you must be converted.”

At Medjugorje Our Lady asked us to take up five “stones” like the “five stones,” by which David brought down Goliath. 

                                     I.        The Sacrament of Confession 

The West has made civilization progress, but without God, as if they were their own creators…Monthly Confessions will be a remedy for the church in the west… whole sections of the Church could be cured if the believers would go to Confession once a month.

                                   II.        Prayer

“Dear children, I beg you to be converted through prayer, then you will know what you must do…Pray the Rosary every day.” She calls us to a greater generosity in prayer, to spend more time in friendship with Jesus in prayer each day.

                                 III.        Read and Meditate on Scripture / the Word of God each day 

We always find time to read and listen to human and secular voices.

We should spend at least as much time, if not more Listening to and thinking about what God is saying to us.

                                IV.        Fasting

At Medjugorje Our Lady asks for a bread and water fast on Wednesdays and Fridays. Fasting is the way to harness our desires and direct them to God. I think we need a fast from our screens for a time each day…

                                  V.        Our Lady reminds us that the Mass is the most perfect prayer, therefore, we should make it the center of our lives

Let Mass be your life. “May the Mass, the most exalted and most powerful act of your prayer, be the center of your spiritual life.” (August 2, 2008)

Our Lady at Medjugorje is to give each of the Visionaries 10 secrets to be revealed to the world. 

Mirjana, Jakov, and Ivanka have received all ten secrets. Marija, Vicka, and Ivan have received nine secrets. Our Lady still appears to them at 6:40pm every day wherever they are

The first two secrets are warnings that invite conversion before it is too late.

The 3rd secret is a sign of hope, a supernatural, permanent and indestructible sign on Apparition Hill where she first appeared. 

Each of the 10 Secrets will be revealed to the world in this way: 10 days before the date of the event foretold in the secret, Mirjana is to tell the priest that has already been chosen, what will happen and when. Mirjana and the priest are to pray and fast for 7 days. Then, 3 days before the event, the priest will reveal the secret to the world.

The only thing Mirjana will say about the secrets is this: “Our Lady is planning to change the world. She did not come to announce our destruction; she came to save us, and with her Son, she will triumph over evil.”

The Fundamental message of the Holy Spirit through Mary in all the apparitions is simple and direct. We must convert.

The problem in the world is not political or economic. The problem is that we have forgotten God and turned away from him.

The Holy Spirit through Mary calls us to turn back to God.

The essence of the Message is conversion:

“It will be too late when the sign comes. Beforehand, several warnings will be given to the world. Have people hurry to be converted. I need your prayers and your penance…The only thing that I would want to tell you is be converted. Make that known to all my children as quickly as possible. No pain, no suffering is too great to me to save you…You cannot imagine what is going to happen nor what the Eternal Father will send to earth. That is why you must be converted.”
