How Can Someone Choose Hell?

one

Hell is Real

St. Faustina gives a testimony of it in her diary. (Diary 741)

“Today, I was led by an Angel to the chasms of hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is!”

She then describes the eternal suffering of Hell. After this she writes: I am writing this at the command of God, so that no soul may find an excuse by saying there is no hell, or that nobody has ever been there, and so no one can say what it is like. I, Sister Faustina, by the order of God, have visited the abysses of hell so that I might tell souls about it and testify to its existence…I have received a command from God to leave it in writing….But I noticed one thing: that most of the souls there are those who disbelieved that there is a hell.

Jesus said: And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell… Mark 9:42-49

What are the sins that I have grown so accustomed to in my life that I don’t even recognize as sins anymore?

What do I need to cut off and pluck out?

God sends no one to hell. However, God gave us freedom.

Therefore, as the Catechism teaches, “We cannot be united with God unless we freely choose to love him. But we cannot love God if we sin gravely against him, against our neighbor or against ourselves…To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God's merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice. This state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed is called ‘hell.’" CCC 1033

CCC 1861: “Mortal sin is a radical possibility of human freedom, as is love…if it is not redeemed by repentance and God’s forgiveness in the sacrament of Reconciliation, it causes exclusion from Christ’s kingdom and the eternal death of hell, for our freedom as the power to make choices forever, with no turning back.”

For a sin to be mortal three conditions must together be met:

We commit a grave sin knowingly and willingly. What are the grave sins? They are specified by the Ten Commandments. Some of which are:

·       The 3rd Commandment: Skipping Mass on Sunday;

·       5th Commandment: Abortion or supporting or promoting abortion rights

·       5th Commandment, the Catechism teaches that Drunkenness and immoral drug use including marjiuana is a grave sin

·       6th Commandment: Divorce and remarriage without an annulment; sex before or outside of marriage; contraception; sterilization for contraceptive purposes; Invitro fertilization and Artificial Insemination; homosexual activity…

·       7th Commandment: the failure to care for the serious needs of the poor and the little ones with whom Christ identifies himself in Matthew 25.

How could someone choose hell?

God sends no one to hell. Sin is to turn away from God. When we make sin a habit, it results in an aversion for God and the things of God. If we have an aversion to God, then we won’t desire God or choose Him. We won’t want to spend time in prayer, we won’t want to go to Mass or Confession or learn our faith or live according to the moral teachings of Jesus.

This is why sin leads people to pray less, go to Mass less, take care of the poor and defenseless less. Why? Because when we make a habit of turning away from God in sin, it creates an aversion to God and all the things of God.

This is so dangerous because if we live and die with an aversion for God then we will reject Him when we see him after death. I mean, hey, if you had an aversion to prayer and doing God’s will on earth and that becomes second nature to you – then that is who you become. God sends no one to hell. People choose it because they have an aversion to God and the things of God. So the more we choose sin, the more our aversion grows which if unchecked is deadly. That is why Jesus says: If your eye

or hand cause you to sin, cut it off, because sin will kill you.

Mary is the Spiritual Mother of every person. That which causes her the most suffering is the eternal loss of even one of her children.

That is why she turns us, to her children who are listening, begging us to help her save her children who are lost and lead them to turn back to God before death, before it is too late.

So, we are on a rescue mission. We are trying to help Jesus and Mary save as many as possible from hell. And Our Lady has given us the plan.

In July of 1917 Mary took the three children of Fatima to Hell.

Immediately after this experience she said to them, “‘You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart.”

We can help our family and friends to heaven by simple means:

    I.        Consecrate yourself to Mary and Live the Consecration

a.  Live a personal relationship with Jesus and Mary

II.        Pray the Rosary every day

a.  Our Lady has repeated told us the Rosary is a powerful weapon to help save souls

                                         i.    Commit to pray the Rosary every day and then invite someone to pray the Rosary with you.

III.        Practice First Saturdays of Reparation

IV.        Make your home a place of invitation, hospitality, and genuine friendship – then your kids, grandkids and many others will come closer to Jesus. Be Apostles of Friendship with Jesus and Friendship with others.
