Anita Smith

Director of Development

Anita holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Kansas School of Journalism. She brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, account services and sales, communications, special event management, and development across both for-profit and non-profit sectors. Her professional background includes roles with the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, and Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.

Anita is passionate about building relationships and inviting others to share in the mission of the Catholic faith.

She and her husband, Ned, have two sons and are nearly empty nesters. Anita enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She’s always up for a new adventure—and loves cheering on the Jayhawks!
